Chances for Children > Tertiary Scholarships
As Chances is a local fund supported by the local community, we ask that Chances is used as a last resort after all other options of funding have been explored and exhausted.

To this end, Chances has developed a Tertiary Scholarship Search engine to assist students to find relevant scholarships to assist them with their studies, and as a flow on, decrease their reliance on Chances funding. This search engine is also available to the wider community – you don’t have to be a Chances recipient to search for scholarships.

Although most Universities offer on campus accommodation, there are other more cost effective options while at university. While Chances understands the benefits of living on campus (meals are provided, meeting new friends and the supportive environment), it is a costly option, with on campus accommodation fees ranging from $6,000 to $20,000 per year.

If a Chances recipient chooses to live on campus, there is an expectation that after twelve months of settling into their new lives, cheaper accommodation will be sought. This may be in the form of a share house or independent student accommodation.
