Chances for Children > About Chances
Chances for Children is a fund that aims to remove financial barriers for children and young people in the Mallee to achieve their potential.

Chances for Children, commonly known as Chances, was established in 2000 in partnership with Mallee Family Care and the then three water authorities, with the understanding that our community needs to protect its two most important assets – water and young people. Today, the single water authority continues to have regular ties to Chances.

Chances is set aside from other funds and programs in that it is a locally based fund, established by the local community, and supported both financially and in kind by local individuals and businesses.

Chances has assisted over 750 local young people from the Mallee to achieve their full potential - be it tertiary education, sporting, musical, or IT assistance for those with learning difficulties.
